OUTSOURCING OF RECEIPT OF VISAS APPLICATIONS FOR FRANCE
Since 1 February 2010, the Embassy of France is going to outsource information for visa applicants, and the reception of visa applications, to a partner, TLScontact (TELESMART International).
All information on outsourcing is available on the TLScontact website (https://www.tlscontact.com/th2fr/lo...) and the appointments are too available to booking.
The call center TLScontact is available by phone Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 16.30pm to number 02 696 3888. A voice server multilingual information is also available 24/24 hours..

This partnership with TLScontact ensure :
an available and permanent information for visa applicants ;
a personalized welcome, in a timely manner (72 hours, excepted during the peak season from February up to April) and a deposit facility applications ;
ability following the visa application progress via the Internet ;
a real-time information for the applicant, by e-mail or SMS, of passport availability.
People who do not wish to use the services of the partner company can however requesting to TLScontact an appointment in order to present personally their visa applications to the Visas Section, 29 Sathorn Thai.
WARNING. Spouses of French and beneficiaries of family reunion.
The terms of the contract of integration provided by Decree No. 2006-1791 of December 23, 2006, will be set up at the Embassy of France in Thailand FROM
29 OF MARCH 2010.
In this context, the issue of long-stay visa for spouses of French and beneficiaries over 16 years of family reunion (by OFII), will be subject to prior test of knowledge of French language and values of the republic.
As usual, the spouses of French have to take an appointment on TLScontact website and to submit their visa application (
https://www.tlscontact.com/th2fr/lo...). They will then be invited to contact the delegate of the OFII : Alliance française in Bangkok to pass the planned evaluations.
Beneficiaries of family reunion over 16 years will receive a direct invitation from the French alliance for an evaluation. At the end, they may submit their visa applications at the date of appointment which will be proposed.
These tests will be held from Tuesday to Thursday from 14.00 at the Alliance Francaise.
Applicants who do not succeed tests, will receive free training : 40 hours for the French language ; half-day for the values of the Republic.
Legal ability of the Embassy of France in respect to visa applicants residence
Under the new regulation in force, the authorities allowed to issue visas can deliver them only for strangers who use to live in their consular area, except when applicants can provide proofs that they have unpredictable and imperious reasons preventing them from applying in the area where they live.
Consequently,
the Embassy will not accept anymore applications from persons living out of Thailand, except if these persons can provide documents explaining that unpredictable and imperious reasons prevent them from apply at the French Embassy or Consulate of their usual residence.
Information on the long-stay visa valid concurrently residence permit
Decret N° 2009-477 of 27 April 2009
After the 1 June 2009, some of long-stay visas are valid as residence permit (it is the long stay visa for spouses of French, students, employees and visitors). Getting this kind of visa will allow the holder to live in France during the period of validity of the visa without having to apply for a residence permit.
However a form will have to be sent to the OFII of the place of residence upon arrival in France.
This form is available to download on this website and have to be join with the visa application. It will be stamp by the visas section in order to give it to OFII.
